Prep Time

  • Preparation Time: 20 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 25 minutes
  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Equipment

  • Large pot (for pasta)
  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs
  • Whisk
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

For the Surf & Turf

  • 8 oz (225g) fettuccine pasta
  • 8 oz (225g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz (225g) steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Alfredo Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning (optional, for extra spice)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Ingredient Notes

  • Steak: Use sirloin or ribeye for a tender, flavorful bite.
  • Shrimp: Jumbo shrimp add a nice texture and balance the rich sauce.
  • Cajun seasoning: You can make your own blend with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, thyme, and oregano.
  • Parmesan: Freshly grated gives the smoothest sauce.

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook fettuccine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Steak and Shrimp:
Toss steak strips and shrimp separately with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook the Steak:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak pieces for 2–3 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
  4. Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add a pinch of Cajun seasoning for an extra kick.
  6. Combine Everything:
Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss well to coat. Add the steak and shrimp back into the skillet and mix gently.
  7. Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan. Serve hot!
