Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk (not hot)
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg (room temperature)

- Optional: garlic powder + parsley for garlic butter rolls
🧈 Instructions
1. Activate yeast
- Mix warm milk + sugar + yeast in a bowl.
- Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
2. Make the dough
- Add the egg, melted butter, salt, and flour.
- Mix and knead for 8–10 minutes until soft and smooth.
(Dough should be slightly sticky but not wet.)
3. First rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
4. Shape the rolls
- Punch the dough down.
- Divide into 12–15 equal balls.
- Arrange balls in a greased round or square baking pan, close together so they touch.
5. Second rise
- Cover and let rise again for 20–30 minutes until puffy.
6. Bake
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown on top.
7. Finish
- Immediately brush hot rolls with melted butter.
- For garlic butter: mix butter + garlic powder + parsley and brush over rolls.
