This Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread is the perfect combination of melty cheese, tender steak, sautéed peppers, onions, and garlic—all baked on a golden toasted loaf of bread.
It’s quick, hearty, and tastes just like a classic Philly cheesesteak but in cheesy, ultra-satisfying toast form. Serve it as an easy dinner, game-day appetizer, or party snack—everyone will love it!

🧂 Ingredients

For the Cheesesteak Filling

  • 1 lb thin-sliced ribeye steak (or sirloin)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)

Bread & Cheese

  • 1 large French bread loaf (or Italian loaf), sliced lengthwise
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded or sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

📝 Ingredient Notes

  • Ribeye: Traditional cheesesteak meat. Freeze for 15 minutes before slicing to get it super thin.
  • Cheese: Provolone gives authentic flavor; mozzarella adds extra meltiness.
  • Bread: French or Italian loaf works best because it’s sturdy and holds toppings well.
  • Peppers: Green is classic, but red or yellow can be used for sweetness.

Step 1 – Prep the Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise.
  3. Brush lightly with melted butter.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and toast for 5 minutes.

Step 2 – Cook the Steak & Veggies

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and peppers; sauté until soft (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  4. Push veggies aside and add thin-sliced steak to the same pan.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  6. Cook steak until browned, about 3–4 minutes.
  7. Mix steak and veggies together.

Step 3 – Assemble the Cheesy Bread

  1. Remove toasted bread from oven.
  2. Sprinkle half the mozzarella on each bread half.
  3. Spoon the steak & pepper mixture evenly over the cheese.
  4. Top with provolone cheese.

Step 4 – Bake

  1. Return to the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Slice into pieces and serve hot.
