Steak Marinade

This marinade adds deep flavor while helping tenderize the steak—savory, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced.


⏱ Prep Time

  • Prep: 5 minutes

  • Marinate: 30 minutes–8 hours

  • Serves: 1½–2 lbs steak


🥘 Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup soy sauce

  • ⅓ cup olive oil

  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (or red wine vinegar)

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (or honey)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried rosemary (or thyme)

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl or jar.

  2. Place steak in a zip-top bag or dish.

  3. Pour marinade over steak, turning to coat.

  4. Cover and refrigerate:

    • 30–60 min for tender cuts (ribeye, sirloin)

    • 4–8 hrs for tougher cuts (flank, skirt)

Remove steak from fridge 20 minutes before cooking.


🔥 Cooking Tips

  • Pat steak dry before cooking (better sear).

  • Don’t over-marinate tender cuts.

  • Discard used marinade or boil before using as sauce.

  • Garlic Butter Style: Add melted butter after cooking

  • Spicy: Add chili flakes or sriracha

  • Keto: Skip sugar or use monk fruit

  • Herb-forward: Add fresh thyme & parsley

  • Asian-style: Add ginger & sesame oil
