Nun’s Puffs

Nun’s Puffs are delicate pastry puffs made from a simple choux-style dough. Crisp outside, soft and hollow inside—perfect with honey, powdered sugar, or fruit.


⏱ Prep Time

  • Prep: 10 minutes

  • Bake: 30–35 minutes

  • Total: ~45 minutes

  • Servings: 12–15 puffs


🍳 Ingredients

  • ½ cup water

  • ½ cup milk

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 4 large eggs

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Grease a muffin tin or line with parchment.


2. Make Dough

  • In a saucepan, combine water, milk, butter, sugar, and salt.

  • Bring to a rolling boil.

  • Add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the dough pulls away from the pan.


3. Add Eggs

  • Remove from heat and let cool 2 minutes.

  • Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth and glossy.


4. Bake

  • Spoon dough into muffin cups (about ¾ full).

  • Bake 30–35 minutes until puffed and golden.
    ⚠️ Do not open the oven while baking.


5. Serve

  • Cool slightly.

  • Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with honey.
