These Lemon Fritters are light, fluffy, and bursting with fresh lemon flavor. Fried until golden and drizzled with a sweet lemon glaze, they’re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ΒΌ tsp salt

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • Β½ cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tbsp melted butter (or oil)

  • Oil for frying

  • 2–3 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional)

Step 1: Make Batter

  1. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and lemon zest.

  2. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, lemon juice, and melted butter.

  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth (do not overmix).


Step 2: Fry

  1. Heat oil to 350Β°F (175Β°C).

  2. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil.

  3. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.

  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.


Step 3: Make Glaze

  1. Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.

  2. Drizzle over warm fritters.
