This Banana Walnut Cream Cake is incredibly moist and tender, packed with ripe banana flavor and crunchy walnuts, then finished with a smooth, lightly sweet cream frosting. It’s perfect for tea time, celebrations, or whenever you need a comforting homemade dessert.

🧾 Ingredients

Cake

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

  • ¾ cup sugar (white or brown)

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts

Cream Frosting

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: chopped walnuts or banana slices for topping


👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare Batter
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round or square pan.
    In a bowl, whisk bananas, oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

  3. Combine
    Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
    Gently fold in chopped walnuts.

  4. Bake
    Pour batter into prepared pan.
    Bake 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
    Cool completely.

  5. Make Cream Frosting
    Beat cold whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.

  6. Assemble
    Spread cream frosting over cooled cake.
    Garnish with walnuts or banana slices if desired.
