Carolina BBQ Sauce

This classic vinegar-based sauce is tangy, peppery, and perfect for pulled pork.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (more if you like heat)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves (do not boil).
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using. Keeps for several weeks in the refrigerator.

South Carolina Mustard Variation
