Ingredients

  • 4 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tsp lemon juice)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Pork Chops

Pat the pork chops dry. Pour buttermilk into a bowl and soak the chops for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for more tenderness).

Step 2: Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Coat the Chops

Remove pork chops from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated. Press the coating onto the meat for extra crispiness.

Step 4: Fry

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
Fry pork chops for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp should reach 145°F / 63°C).

Step 5: Rest and Serve

Remove from oil and place on paper towels. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
