Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: chocolate chips or Nutella (for the center)

Ingredient Notes

  • Flour: You can swap with almond flour for a Keto-friendly version.
  • Cocoa: Use unsweetened cocoa for rich chocolate flavor.
  • Butter vs. Oil: Butter gives more flavor, while oil keeps the cake extra moist.

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In your mug, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir well.

Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients

Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and lump-free.

Step 3: Add a Chocolate Surprise (Optional)

Drop a teaspoon of Nutella or a few chocolate chips into the center.

Step 4: Microwave

Microwave on high for 1 minute 30 seconds (time may vary slightly by microwave). The cake should rise and look set but still moist on top.

Step 5: Enjoy

Let cool for 1–2 minutes. Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream, ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
