This Taco Salad brings together seasoned meat, crisp lettuce, and classic taco toppings in one big, satisfying bowl. It’s perfect for a quick dinner, meal prep, or a lighter take on taco night.

🍳 Ingredients

Meat

  • 500 g ground beef or chicken

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)

Salad Base

  • 4 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • ½ cup corn (optional)

  • ½ cup black beans (optional)

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese

Toppings

  • Tortilla chips, crushed

  • Sliced olives (optional)

  • Diced avocado

  • Chopped green onions

Dressing

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)

  • 2 tbsp salsa

  • 1 tbsp lime juice


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the Meat

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

  • Add ground meat and cook until browned.

  • Stir in taco seasoning and cook 2–3 minutes. Set aside.


2. Make the Dressing

  • In a bowl, whisk sour cream, mayonnaise, salsa, and lime juice.


3. Assemble the Salad

  • In a large bowl, add lettuce, tomatoes, corn, beans, and cheese.

  • Top with warm taco meat.


4. Finish & Serve

  • Drizzle with dressing.

  • Top with tortilla chips, avocado, olives, and green onions.

  • Toss lightly and serve immediately.
