Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Juicy shrimp tossed in garlicky butter sauce with tender pasta and a hint of lemon. Simple ingredients, BIG flavor.


⏱ Prep Time

  • Prep: 10 minutes

  • Cook: 15–20 minutes

  • Total: ~30 minutes

🍳 Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced

  • Β½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Β½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • Β½ cup reserved pasta water

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • ΒΌ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

1. Cook Pasta

  • Boil pasta in salted water until al dente.

  • Reserve Β½ cup pasta water, then drain.


2. Cook Shrimp

  • Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • Heat olive oil + 1 tbsp butter in a skillet.

  • Cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink.

  • Remove and set aside.


3. Make Garlic Butter Sauce

  • In the same pan, melt remaining butter.

  • Add garlic and red pepper flakes; sautΓ© 30 seconds.


4. Combine

  • Add pasta, shrimp, pasta water, and lemon juice.

  • Toss gently until coated and glossy.


5. Finish

  • Remove from heat.

  • Stir in Parmesan and parsley.

  • Adjust seasoning.
