Butter Swim Biscuits are ultra-soft, fluffy, and unbelievably buttery. The dough “swims” in melted butter as it bakes, creating crispy golden edges with a tender, pillowy center. No rolling, no cutting — just mix, pour, and bake.

🧾 Ingredients

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1¾ cups buttermilk

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. Place butter in the baking dish and melt in the oven. Remove and set aside.

  3. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  4. Stir in buttermilk until a thick, sticky dough forms.

  5. Carefully pour dough over melted butter — do not stir.

  6. Spread evenly, then cut into 9 squares using a knife.

  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly on the edges.
