Cheesy Spinach Ricotta Ring

Fluffy yeast dough wrapped around a flavorful spinach-ricotta-cheese filling, baked to golden perfection.

🛒 Ingredients

Dough

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 packet (7g) instant yeast

  • ¾ cup warm milk

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large egg

Filling

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped & lightly sautéed

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Topping

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Extra Parmesan or mozzarella


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make Dough

  • Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast

  • Add warm milk, egg, and oil

  • Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth

  • Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled

2️⃣ Prepare Filling

  • Mix ricotta, sautéed spinach, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg

3️⃣ Assemble Ring

  • Roll dough into a rectangle (~12×8 inches)

  • Spread filling evenly

  • Roll tightly lengthwise, pinch seams

  • Form into a ring on baking sheet, seal ends

4️⃣ Bake

  • Brush with beaten egg

  • Sprinkle extra cheese on top

  • Bake 25–30 minutes at 375°F (190°C) until golden

5️⃣ Serve

  • Cool 5 minutes before slicing

  • Serve warm as a pull-apart bread
