Creamy Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque

This Creamy Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque is smooth, comforting, and elegant—perfect for special dinners or cozy nights in. Made with tender shrimp, sweet crab meat, and a velvety cream base, it delivers deep seafood flavor in every spoonful.

🍳 Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 3 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ lb shrimp, peeled, deveined & chopped

  • ½ lb crab meat (lump or claw)

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Build the Base

  • In a pot, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat.

  • Add onion and sauté until soft.

  • Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.


2. Thicken

  • Stir in flour and cook 1 minute.

  • Add tomato paste and mix well.


3. Add Liquid

  • Gradually whisk in seafood stock.

  • Simmer 10–12 minutes until slightly thickened.


4. Cream & Seafood

  • Reduce heat to low.

  • Stir in cream, paprika, Old Bay, salt, and pepper.

  • Add shrimp and cook 3–4 minutes until pink.

  • Gently fold in crab meat.


5. Finish

  • Stir in lemon juice.

  • Simmer 2–3 minutes (do not boil).

  • Garnish with parsley.
