Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup cold sparkling water (or cold water)

1️⃣ Prepare the Crab Legs

  • If frozen, thaw completely and pat dry.

  • Use kitchen shears to lightly crack shells for easier eating.

2️⃣ Heat the Oil

  • Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).

3️⃣ Make the Batter

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch, Old Bay, paprika, garlic powder, and pepper.

  • Slowly whisk in cold sparkling water until smooth.

4️⃣ Batter & Fry

  • Dip crab legs into batter, coating evenly.

  • Carefully lower into hot oil.

  • Fry 5–7 minutes, turning once, until golden and crispy.

5️⃣ Drain & Season

  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

  • Sprinkle with extra seasoning if desired.
