Mix cloves with Vaseline

People combine cloves + Vaseline for different purposes, so the steps and safety tips depend on the goal.

Here are the common uses and how it’s usually done (with cautions):

1) For topical use (skin fragrance, insect deterrent, or massage balm)

Method

  1. Grind whole cloves into a fine powder or lightly crush them.

  2. Warm a small amount of Vaseline (do not boil—just soften).

  3. Mix in a very small amount of clove powder (start with a pinch).

  4. Let it sit for a few hours, then strain if you want it smooth.

Caution

  • Cloves are strong and can irritate skin.

  • Do a patch test first.

  • Avoid broken or sensitive skin.

2) For tooth/gum pain (traditional remedy)

Some people apply clove-infused Vaseline externally on the cheek, not directly on gums.

⚠️ Important:

>
  • Do not put this directly on gums or teeth—clove can burn tissue.

  • For dental pain, clove oil (diluted properly) is safer than raw clove + Vaseline.

  • This is not a substitute for dental care.

3) What NOT to do

  • Do not ingest it.

  • Do not use on children.

  • Do not apply to eyes, lips, or private areas.
