Meat Filling

1 lb (500g) ground lamb (traditional) or beef

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup frozen peas & carrots

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup beef broth
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tbsp flour

2 tbsp oil
Mashed Potato Topping

2 lbs potatoes, peeled & cubed

½ cup milk
-
3 tbsp butter
-
Salt to taste
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Potatoes

Boil potatoes in salted water for 15–18 minutes until soft.

Drain, mash with milk, butter, and salt.

Set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the Filling

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Cook onion for 3–4 minutes until soft.

Add garlic and ground lamb/beef, cook until browned.

Stir in flour and tomato paste.

Pour in broth and Worcestershire sauce.

Add peas, carrots, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Simmer 8–10 minutes until thick.
3️⃣ Assemble & Bake

Spread meat mixture into baking dish.

Spoon mashed potatoes on top and spread evenly.

Rough up the surface with a fork (helps browning).
