- Freezing Time: 4–6 hours
- Total Time: About 6 hours
Equipment Needed
- Mixing bowl
- Hand whisk or electric mixer
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Loaf pan or freezer-safe container
- Spatula
- Plastic wrap or lid
Basic Ingredients (No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream (cold)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Ingredient Notes
Heavy Cream
This is what creates the fluffy, creamy texture. It must be cold to whip properly.
Sweetened Condensed Milk
Adds sweetness and helps keep the ice cream soft and scoopable.
Vanilla Extract
Gives classic ice cream flavor, but you can replace or enhance it with other flavors.
Instructions
Step 1: Whip the Cream
In a large bowl, beat the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This means the cream holds its shape when you lift the whisk.
Step 2: Mix the Base
In another bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
Step 3: Fold Together
Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture. Do this slowly to keep it light and airy.
Step 4: Transfer to Container
Pour mixture into a loaf pan or freezer-safe container. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Step 5: Freeze
Cover with plastic wrap or lid and freeze for 4–6 hours, or until firm.
Serving
Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping for easier serving.
